Meet some of the musicians of the Siegfried Camerata!

PANARETOS KYRIATZIDIS
A versatile, award-winning musician, Panaretos has established himself as a collaborative performer. Recent highlights include recitals at St Martin-in-the-Fields and St James’s Piccadilly and winning joint first prize at the Gerald Moore Award.

Panaretos holds a Postgraduate Artist Diploma and a Master’s degree with Distinction from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where he was tutored by Martino Tirimo and Philip Fowke. During his time at Trinity Laban Panaretos won first prize in The Elisabeth Schumann Lieder Competition, The English Song Competition, Il Circolo Solo Piano Competition, The Leonard Smith & Felicity Young Duo Competition and The Cavatina Chamber Music Competition (with the Bedriska Trio). He reached the semi-final of the Jaques Samuel Intercollegiate Piano Competition and performed Stravinsky's Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments with the Trinity Laban Wind Orchestra. He also received the David Gosling Prize, awarded for excellence in accompaniment, and the John Thompson Prize for chamber music.

Panaretos enjoys a busy performance schedule and takes great pleasure in working with the well-established Bedriska Trio and Peacock Ensemble. He is currently a Leverhulme Junior Fellow in Piano Accompaniment at Trinity Laban. When time allows he loves immersing himself in creative hobbies, mostly cooking.

PEDRO LÓPEZ
Born in Totana (Spain), Pedro started to play flute at the age of eight. After graduating at Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Aragon with Antonio Nuez, he continued his studies at Trinity Laban with Anna Noakes

He recently graduated the Royal College of Music, where he coursed the Artist Diploma degree under the tutelage of Gareth Davies, Sue Thomas and Katie Bedford, principals of the LSO, LPO and ENO orchestras.

Supported by the Tillett Trust, Pedro has attended regularly the 'Nederlandse Fluit Academy' in the Netherlands, having lessons with Emily Beynon.

He has been member of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE), Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra (YMSO), Orchestra "Neue Musike" de Bolzano/Bozen and "Camerata Aragon" Chamber orchestra, among others.

During his career he has been awarded twice with the 'Ibercaja Prize', spanish competition for young musicians.

A passionate chamber musician, Pedro usually plays with diverse formations, such as woodwind quintet and flute, viola and harp trio.

Recent highlights are the performance of Frank Martin's Ballade at Het Concertebouw in Amsterdam, a recital at St-Martin-in-the-Fields in London and a recording for the National Radio of Spain (RNE) of the Bax and Debussy's trios with the Trio Vasnier.

Future projets include chamber music recitals at the Royal Opera House in London and Palau de la Musica in Barcelona.

Pedro is currently a flute player in the Southhbank Sinfonia in London.

MARK GIBBS
Mark studied viola at the Royal College of Music Junior Department with Peter Lewis and Penny Filer and then at the Royal College of Music with Jonathan Barritt, graduating in July 2013. Following a successful application, Mark studied with Czech violist Jan Peruška at the Academy of Performing Arts, Prague, from September 2011 until January 2012. He was commended for his performances in the 2011 and 2013 Royal College of Music viola competitions.

Mark is a keen chamber musician and has performed recitals throughout London and the south east. He has performed numerous concertos, including Telemann’s viola concerto with Solistes de musique ancienne and Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante with Ensemble Lunaire.

Mark has played Principal viola with many orchestras, including the Young Musician’s Symphony Orchestra, London Firebird Orchestra , the London Beethoven Project and Orchestra Vitae, performing at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Centre, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, St. Martin in the Fields and LSO St. Luke’s.

Mark was recently offered a position in the Macao Orchestra in China and worked with them in September and October 2014. He has played with the London Concert Orchestra and Mozart Festival Orchestra and in 2015 will take up the offer of a place in the Southbank Sinfonia.

In his free time, Mark follows Manchester United and enjoys listening to Muse and Justin Timberlake!

MIRIAM WAKELING
Miriam is currently a freelance cellist and workshop leader based in London, performing as an orchestral, chamber and session musician. She recently completed a recording of Chris Brammeld’s piano trio Op.6, composed in 2014 with Bedriska Trio. Miriam is a founding member of both Bedriska Trio and Quartet Volute, with whom she regularly performs with around the UK.

As a session player Miriam has recorded on albums for a wide variety of artists, gaining airplay on BBC radio 2, BBC 6 music and BBC London. Miriam has recorded sessions for SonyRecords and Universal Studios Germany, having performed with the likes of Nitin Sawhney, The Cure’s Roger O’Donnell, Paper Aeroplanes and recorded for Nick Howard among others.

Miriam gained a Masters in Music from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2013 thanks to the Ludwig Lebell and Leverhulme Orchestral Mentorship Scholarships. Miriam currently studies cello with Richard Markson.

Miriam is very passionate about education work, and this year is working as the String Leader for Animate Orchestra East, in partnership with the LPO. Miriam recently worked for ShareMusic Southwest on a creative music making course in Devon, and is taking part on Spitafields Music Core Training Programme for Music Workshop leaders.

Miriam also currently works for the Tri-Borough Music Hub, assisting two youth orchestras and teaching Cello to students at schools in South Kensington and Ladbroke Grove.
In her spare time Miriam enjoys going to festivals, cycling, swimming, cooking and going to the beach!

IAIN GIBBS
Iain Gibbs began playing the violin aged six and currently studies with Detlef Hahn on the Masters programme at the Royal College of Music. As leader of the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra of Great Britain since January 2011, Iain is frequently asked to lead orchestral projects in and around London. Recent engagements have included projects with the Marryat Players, London Beethoven Project, Orchestra Vitae, Portobello Orchestra and King’s Philharmonic.

Iain has toured with the John Wilson Orchestra and has worked with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. He has performed at venues across London, including the Barbican, Royal Festival Hall and the House of Lords and has worked in France as part of Westminster Opera Company’s Emerging Artists Programme.

In his spare time, Iain enjoys spending time with friends and watching football and tennis. He also goes to as many concerts as he can!
VICTORIA JERICÓ
Victoria Jericó is a young Spanish violinist who stands out for her musicality and lovely sound.

She is a member of Duo Stellae, a promising ensemble that has recently been awarded the “Byram Jeejeebhoy” prize for violin & piano. Since the beginning the duo has been very active, bringing Victoria to play in England, Scotland and Spain, being invited to play at the Festival PAM’14 in Pamplona.

Her increasing interest in Chamber Music brought her to form the Agora Piano Trio, an exciting ensemble that won the 1st prize at the Stratford Music Festival last year. As a member, she has received masterclasses from Christopher Richter and Richard Ireland at Chamber Studio Day’14 hold at Trinity Laban.

Victoria shares her passion for chamber music with an enthusiasm for orchestras that has led her to play with orchestras such as Trinity Laban String Ensemble, Sigfried Camerata or YMSO in England and with youth symphony orchestras from Catalonia, Cantabria or Basque Country in Spain.

She has recently finished MMus studies with Andrew Sherwood at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, generously supported by a TCM Scholarship.

In her free time she likes to make handiwork and cook for her friends.
YUHKA NAGAI
A native of Japan, violinist Yuhka Nagai graduated in 2014 at the Royal Academy of Music in London as a student of Mayumi Fujikawa. At the moment, she is working towards an Artist Diploma with Mayumi Fujikawa at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance as a Violet Wright Scholar.

She also holds a MA in Performance and LRAM teaching qualification from the Royal Academy, and Bachelor of Arts and Masters degrees from the Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo, Japan. She has also obtained teaching qualifications in Japan, which allowed her to teach at selected local high schools, and has enabled her to pursue her passion for teaching in London as well.

In 2007 Yuhka was selected to play as the concertmaster of the Musashino Academia Symphony Orchestra for 3 years. An active solo and chamber musician, Yuhka has been a member of a variety of chamber music ensembles and has performed as a soloist at various festivals.

As a member of the piano quartet, “Blüte,” she won third prize in the 1st Memorial Tokyo Art Chamber Music competition, and later this ensemble’s recital was sponsored by the Tokyo Art Center. She is currently the 1st violin of the Kodo Quartet, which was recently selected to take part in The Richard Carne Mentorship with Caducci and Wihan String Quartets.

With the Kodo Quartet she has won the the Richard Carne Intercollegiate String Quartet Competition 2015 at Trinity Laban Conservatoire Music and Dance.

After coming to London for studies, Yuhka has performed in several lunchtime concerts. Devoted to music, she focuses on her relationship between her heart, mind and body and is a passionate advocate for introducing Japanese composers such as Hikaru Hayashi to a wider audience in the United Kingdom. Aside from music performance and education, Yuhka is currently researching different approaches to improving musical performance through mental training with Dr. Shuichi Tsuji.

When she is not making music, Yuhka enjoys charity shop shopping and swimming.
ENRIQUE SANTIAGO

Enrique has graduated in MA in violin performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Mateja Marinkovic (July 2014). Leader of the Andalusia´s youth orchestra and member of many youth orchestras such as the youth orchestra of Spain, West Eastern-Divan orchestra, and recently, the reserve list of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. He also has collaborated with the London Sinfonietta at the Southbank Centre and has led the Betica Orchestra, the oldest professional orchestra in Seville (Spain).

Over recent years he has taken violin lessons and master classes with great violinists and teachers, such as Thomas Brandis, Kazuki Sawa, Shirly Laub, Michael Thomas, Andrej Bielow, Yossi Zivoni, Jasna Maksimovic and Tasmin Little.

At the same time, regarding chamber music, he studied under the guidance of the Quatuor Danel, Brodsky quartet, Emerson quartet, Wihan quartet and Cuarteto Quiroga. He is currently working towards a Posgraduate Artist Diploma at Trinity College with John Crawford.
Clémence Hazaël - Massieux

Clémence just successfully finished her Masters in violin Performance at the RNCM, where she held the “Stuart Grey Scholarship”. She studied with Gina McCormack, Pavel Fischer and Stéphane Tran Ngoc.

Her recent solo appearances include premiers of contemporary works, including a performance with the RNCM Brand New Orchestra. She also performed her own composition at the British Museum (RNCM “Sound Histories”) and for the “New Music North West” festival. She has performed in Masterclasses for Renaud Capuçon, Yair Kless, Gérard Poulet and many others. Recital appearances include performances in Manchester, London, Paris, Gerardmer(France), notably a London performance of Sibelius Violin Concerto with I Maestri Orchestra.

Member of the Anatolia Piano Trio, they recently performed in Convey Hall.

She plays in orchestras in London and in France.

CAMINO CARRIÓN

Camino obtained her Bachelor's degree in violin in Spain with Olga Vilkomirskaia. (pupil of David Oistrakh). She also had private piano tuition with Ricardo Requejo and Eduardo Rodriguez.

During her studies, Camino attended violin courses and masterclasses with Alexandre Detissov, Mayumi Fujikawa, Elena Mijailovskaia, Anne Marie North and Oliver Wille amongst others.
Moreover she has received chamber music coaching from Gerard Caussé, Graham Devine, Martino Tirimo and Michael Bochmann.

Highlights of her orchestral activities include engagements with YMSO (Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra), Orion Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta de Extremadura, Leader in the Orquesta Filarmónica de Valladolid (OFV), London Arte Chamber Orchestra, Kantanti Ensemble, Stuttgart Youth Orchestra of Germany, working with conductors like Alexander G. Adiarte, Marin Alsop, James Blair, Sian Edwards, Elgar Howarth, Nicholas Kraemer, Toby Purser, Sue Perkins, Lee Reynolds, in halls like Wigmore hall, The Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth hall, Great Hall Aberystwyth, St. John's Smith Square, Conway Hall, amongst others.

She has performed both as soloist and as the leader of the chamber and symphony orchestras of the Conservatoire of Badajoz in Spain.

Camino played as 2nd violin of the Octet by Mendelssohn in “Telegraph Hill Festival” in 2014 with Ian Belton, violinist of the Brodsky Quartet and members of the London Symphony Orchestra,City of London Sinfonia and Britten Sinfonia.

Camino finished her Mmus in violin at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under the guidance of John Crawford on a TCM Scholarship.

DECLAN McERLANE

Declan McErlane was born in 1990. Originally from Northern Ireland, he moved to London after his studies with Ulster Orchestra leader, Tamás Kócsis, to begin lessons with Boris Brovtsyn at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

As an orchestral player, Declan has performed with the Ulster Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall for the 2012 BBC Proms and also at the Ulster Hall performing Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. In April 2012, he performed to Her Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II, with Trinity Laban’s Symphony Orchestra for the recent inauguration of the Cutty Sark. Declan gives frequent concerts with the Orion Orchestra at many of London’s major classical music venues with the conductor Toby Purser. He has also been very lucky to travel further afield with Orion, performing opera for Sir James Dyson at his estate in Dodington Park, Aberystwyth Music Festival 2013 in Wales, and a Khojaly Commemorative Concert in L’èglise San Roch, Paris and St John Smith’s Square, London under the baton of Laurent Petitgirard. Outside of the classical realm, this orchestra has given Declan the opportunity to play with quite a few rock legends as part of Sunflower Jam’s “Celebrating Jon Lord’ and Rick Wakemen’s Journey to the Centre of the Earth UK Tour.

Before moving to London, Declan did pit work for Northern Ireland Opera in their performances of Puccini’s ‘Tosca’ as well as leading many musicals including ‘The Wizard of Oz’, ‘Calamity Jane’ and ‘Hello, Dolly’, ‘

Declan is very passionate about chamber music. During his studies he has played in duets through to sextets, and has received coaching from well-established quartets such as Le Quatuor Mosaïques and the Vanbrugh Quartet. He is currently interested in specialising in string quartet.

In his solo career, Declan has won the Declan O’Loan MLA and Victor Ross Memorial awards at 2011’s Ballymena Festival and given recitals of Bach’s E Major Partita for Solo Violin and Bruch Violin Concerto in the Mackerras Room at Trinity Laban. In Summer 2011 he performed the Theme to Schindler’s List with the NEELB Youth Orchestra and is on the lookout for an orchestra interested in performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in 2015.

In the studio Declan has recorded work for Pink Floyd at Abbey Road and put down tracks for David Colquhoun. He has also recorded for local talented composers, Mike MacLennan and Thomas Farnon.

Upon completing his BMus (Hons) in Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Declan will be furthering his studies at the Royal Academy of Music.

“In my spare time (when I get it!) I like riding and repairing motorbikes. I’ve done everything from basic maintenance up to brake and suspension rebuilds. Next is rebuilding an engine!"
